Poha is a popular breakfast dish in India that is made with flattened rice flakes. Here is a unique recipe for Poha that is perfect for a spicy and tangy snack:


Ingredients:


  1. 2 cups thick poha (flattened rice flakes)
  2. 1/2 cup roasted peanuts
  3. 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
  4. 1/4 cup chopped onions
  5. 2-3 green chilies, chopped
  6. 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  7. 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  8. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  9. 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  10. 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Oil for cooking


Instructions:


  1. Rinse the poha in a strainer and soak it in water for 5-7 minutes. Drain the water completely and keep aside.
  2. In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add onions, green chilies and sauté until the onions turn translucent.
  4. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder and sauté for a few seconds.
  5. Add the soaked poha and mix well until it is evenly coated with the spices.
  6. Add salt to taste and mix well.
  7. Cook for 5-7 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
  8. Add roasted peanuts and mix well.
  9. Add lemon juice and mix well.
  10. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
