Poha snack unique recipe
Poha is a popular breakfast dish in India that is made with flattened rice flakes. Here is a unique recipe for Poha that is perfect for a spicy and tangy snack:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups thick poha (flattened rice flakes)
- 1/2 cup roasted peanuts
- 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
- 1/4 cup chopped onions
- 2-3 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for cooking
Instructions:
- Rinse the poha in a strainer and soak it in water for 5-7 minutes. Drain the water completely and keep aside.
- In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add onions, green chilies and sauté until the onions turn translucent.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder and sauté for a few seconds.
- Add the soaked poha and mix well until it is evenly coated with the spices.
- Add salt to taste and mix well.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
- Add roasted peanuts and mix well.
- Add lemon juice and mix well.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
